Many Moons Discussions
| | Twelve new moons for Saturn | | Astronomers have discovered 12 new moons orbiting Saturn, bringing its number of natural satellites to 46.The moons are small, irregular bodies - probably only about 3-7km in size - that are far from Saturn and take about two years to complete one orbit. All but one circles Saturn in the opposite direction to its larger moons - a characteristic of captured bodies.Jupiter is the planet with the most moons, 63 at the last count. Saturn now has 46. Uranus has 27 and Neptune 13.The latest ones were found last year using the Subaru telescope in Hawaii. Confirmation observations were made last month using the Gemini North telescope also situated in Hawaii. | |
| | Will you like four honeymoons? Jupitor has 4 large moons & earth has only one! | | Jupiter has four large moons and dozens of smaller ones (there are about 60 known moons so far).
Galileo first discovered the four largest moons of
Jupiter, Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto in 1610,
using a 20-power telescope; these moons are known as
the Galilean moons.
The moons of Jupiter are: Metis, Adrastea,
Amalthea, Thebe, Io, Europa, Ganymede (the biggest),
Callisto (the second biggest), Leda (the smallest),
Himalia, Lysithea, Elara, Ananke, Carme, Pasiphae,
Sinope, and many newly-discovered moons that haven't been named yet.
If suppose our earth too had such large four moon in that case we had to celebrate "Four honeymoons".
Will you enjoy this in case.......

But he thinks the decision of school officials to send him to a new school for the rest of the year was too harsh, so his family is suing.Tyler Tillung, 18, mooned a teacher "suddenly and without thinking about the consequences" in February, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday. The teacher had declined to let him into a Feb. 21 school lip sync show that was full. He was suspended for six days and reassigned to a new school. But the teen wants to graduate with his Palm Harbor University High class in six weeks and complete his final season on the varsity baseball team, the lawsuit said."We're talking about his graduation," said Tillung's lawyer, B. Edwin Johnson. "That's an important event in a guy's life. ... This kid deserves a break."School Board Attorney Jim Robinson said administrators stand by their decision."Without knowing the allegations, we're confident in the administration's position on this case," Robinson said. Palm Harbor principal Herman "Doc" Allen described the mooning as "disgusting" and the...
| | There Are Going To Be Two Full Moons In May 2007! What A Treat! | | I Celebrate a wonderful Holiday this Month and I get two, count 'em two, Full Moons to enjoy as well!:)I just realized this as I was slightly complaining about not being able to go away to the Mountains yesterday, to celebrate Beltane at The Full moon which is going to occur tommorow on the second day of May!That's why, I'm a firm believer in not complaining so much about what you don't have, and actually seeing what you do have...I was checking for the next Full Moon and I found out that it's going to be a Blue Moon as it also occurs this very Month!:)Yippee! Lovers get to celebrate Beltane the whole Month of May, if they wish!:) This a great time to cast Love Spells and such, cause they will have double the power... No wonder I was "Climbing the Walls", with Spring Fever! LOL!:)What a great Gift! Thank You, Great Mother... from now on I will THINK before I complain, and then I won't complain, anyway!:) | |
