| What's your claim to fame? | | Do you know or are you related to anyone famous? Have you ever met anyone famous? Maybe dated a now "star" in highschool, during their not-so-cool days? Do tell! I'll even start...my mom dated Paul Anka's cousin. | |
| | Critics Blast Schwarzenegger's Million-dollar Inauguration Party | | California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is planning to celebrate his re-election with a two-day Hollywood-style party that will cost over a million dollars, drawing criticism from advocates for consumer and taxpayer rights. The centrepiece of the extravaganza will be the former action movie star's swearing-in Friday in front of about 3,000 guests at Sacramento's historic Memorial Auditorium, where guitarist and singer Jose Feliciano will perform the national anthem. The official event will be preceded by a swanky private dinner for big political donors the night before. It will be followed by a spate of luncheons and a gala ball featuring singers Donna Summer and paul Anka entertaining guests who will pay at least 500 dollars each to attend. The entire event is being organized by Carl Bendix, who is also responsible for such lavish events as the Academy Awards Governor's Ball which is regarded as the most prestigious party following the Oscars each year.Schwarzenegger is not allowing his broken thigh to interfere with the festivities. He said in a recent statement that he is looking forward to the event, "even if it means I have to... | |
| | Song Ideas for a Compilation CD for New Parents | | Hi All! I have been racking my brain to come up with song ideas for a CD I'm making for my cousin for her new baby that is due in a month. She is having a baby boy and likes a lot of different music but does like country also.I am trying to make them either be about having a baby, starting a family, or songs to a child from a parent (i.e. I hope you Dance by Lee Ann Womack). Any help would be greatly appreciated since Google does not seem to be working for me much. The songs I have so far are:Two People Fell in Love by Brad Paisley
Watching You by Rodney Atkins
Love Without End Amen by George Strait
Rich Man by Mark Wills
Heroes by Paul Overstreet
You're Having My Baby by Paul Anka
I Hope you Dance by Lee Ann Womack
Let Mercy Lead by Rich Mullins | |
| | Legends of the Fifties and Sixties | | So how many of you are Motown and Old Time Rock N Roll Lovers? Share your Memories on all the Motown Sounds you remember and all the concerts you can remember. As for me, the list is way to long to remember all of the Great Bands from then that I saw. But, I must say I was born late in the 50's so I missed a good majority of the legends of the sounds of Old Time Soul and Rock n Roll. My list starts with Little Richard, Temptations, Ojay's, Four Tops, Al Green, Turtles, Bobby Sherman, Monkees, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Neil Sadaka, Tiny Tim, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Tom Jones,,James Brown, Spinners, Paul anka, Bobby Daren and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and last but not least The Beach Boys. From the time I was 14, I knew this was the Era I should have been born. Attending The Ohio State Fair and seeing all these wonderful bands in concert every summer for free. It was the greatest most fond memories I can remember. I have this Great Love for music, and cherish every bit of it. This is what makes me happy the most. Good Music to dance to, sing too, and keep me smiling. | |
| | The One Song That Gives You The Feeling... | | What is one song that when you hear, it gives you a strange feeling? Mine is "Hold Me Till The Morning Comes" by Paul Anka. I like the original one. Last time I heard that over the radio was years before. But it has always been my favorite song. It was around year 1983-84 when I was still in the 3rd grade. Then when I was in college, I heard that song again. Now, I have the song in my playlist, downloaded it through limewire. Whenever i haer it, it gives me a feeling as if there are butterflies in my stomach. It must be very touching, I don't know. Overall, i love the feeling. What about you? What is the one song that when you hear it, it makes you feel something...different?I appreciate the responses. | |

| | This Is It and other new MJ songs | | "This Is It" the song was not what people expected. Most people thought new released were going to be songs Michael did near the end of his life. However, "this Is It" was done some 16 years before his death in collaboration with Paul Anka."This Is It", is a inspiration ballad about love and overcoming. On average its not one of Michael's better songs but with the hype about everything Michael it found a place. We still at this time await other new songs of Michael. Supposedly he had thousands stored away in his collection. We also continue to wait on the full release of his America remake, "A Place with No Name". | |
| | | Which classic song do you like most? What's your favorite line? | | Listening to music is my favorite pastime. I prefer classic songs that were composed and sang long years ago but are still played over and over on the radio up to now. Whenever I do the laundry and other household chores, I always tune in to my fave radio station that plays old songs especially during Sundays. Of all classic pieces, TIMES OF YOUR LIFE by Paul Anka is one of the best for me. I got carried away by its lyrics, melody, and Paul's voice quality - the combination is perfectly superb! I love the meaning of this song. It tells about gathering great memories at present to be remembered and pondered upon as we grow older."Good morning yesterday, You wake up and Time has slipped away and suddenly it's hard to find the Memories you left behind. Remember, do you remember the Times of your Life?" That is my favorite line, what's yours? | |
